On our way to work this morning, we drove past the Charles River. My daughter was totally taken with the fog eddies swirling off its smooth, dark surface. She composed her first Haiku. It is tiny, beautiful and perfect -- just like her.
Honey, do you see?
The river swims in itself;
It is so happy.

Wow...she came up with that on her own? It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYup. That's exactly how she said it. Although, I guess the semi-colon is subjective :)
ReplyDeleteI had to keep reciting it to myself until I got a chance to get it down, so I wouldn't forget. She's amazing. Thanks for your comment, and for coming by.
How very creative! What a beautiful way to look at fog on a river. It's often sad that we can't see things from a child's perspective. She will probably grow up to be a (best selling) author/writer.
ReplyDeleteThat so beautiful...

Please...Need a small favor Can you please help me in the contest by leaving a comment on my Youngistaan Post? Thank you in advance. here is the link http://chaptersfrommylife.blogspot.com/2010/04/april-2010-youngistaan-ka-wow-contest.html
"The river swims in itself."
ReplyDeleteKid or not, that's friggin' brilliant imagery right there.
Can she do a limerick?
Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hadjare. And Chris, funny you ask. She's helping her dad with one right now to enter some insane meat contest. Daddy and daughter bonding over dick jokes; how proud am I? I hope that abomination never sees the light of day.
ReplyDeleteSimply fantabulous.
ReplyDeleteshe puts me to shame!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's day, My love. You are an amazing Mother and we're all lucky to have you.
